Trop Rock Music Association

I'm a songwriter based in Key West. For the last two years I've been invited by BMI Nashville, to play in the Key West Songwriter's Festival ( KWSF), which is a BMI Nashville event actually and viewed by many in the recording industry as the most important songwriting event in the country. I've been affiliated with McClure & Trowbridge Publishing since 2000 as one of their writers. As far as my recordings go, my objectives with my CD "Shanghai'd and Marooned in Key West (things could be worse)", was to A) Showcasemy songwriting abilities and B) Produce an album that was focused on the Keys. In doing this, I came up with ten songs in eleven different root genres; Afro/Cuban/Motown, Jazz, Funk, Country, Rock, Barrel House Blues,Southern Rock Brazilian, and Bahamian, so nothing sounds at all the same. In addition the standard chords, such as say G, C, and D, I'll often use chords such as C6/9, or maybe a D13. Chords such as these add colors which add so much to a given song and may not be sounds a lot of other Trop Rock artists use.The quest is always to sound above all else "Fresh and Original"
